A man of great fortune his home was in York
He had a wife and children too
But he was not content with his lot
He wanted to see the world and do something new
So he left his home and went to sea
He was shipwrecked on a desert island
And there he lived for twenty-eight years
He was all alone with no one to talk to
He had to learn to survive on his own
He built a house and grew his own food
He made his own clothes and tools
He even tamed a parrot and a goat
He called the parrot Poll and the goat Friday
He was a resourceful man and he never gave up
He always found a way to make the best of things
He was a true survivor
He was Robinson Crusoe
