「歌曲」Send a Picture of Mother-Johnny Cash

When I was in prison, a letter came to me
From my dear mother, who I'd longed to see
She said, "My son, I'm getting old and gray
And I'd love to see you, but I'm so far away"

So I wrote her back and I said, "Dear mother
I wish I could be there with you and my brother
But since I can't come home, I'll do the best I can
Send a picture of mother, and I'll be a happy man"

Send a picture of mother, that's all I ask of you
Send a picture of mother, and I'll be true
Though I'm far away, in this prison cell
Send a picture of mother, and all will be well

She wrote me back and said, "My son, I'm sending
A picture of me, and my heart is bending
For you, my boy, and I hope you'll understand
That I'll always love you, and I'll hold your hand"

So I got the picture, and I kissed it so
And I felt a love that I'd never known
Though I'm locked away, in this lonely place
Send a picture of mother, and I'll see her face

Send a picture of mother, that's all I ask of you
Send a picture of mother, and I'll be true
Though I'm far away, in this prison cell
Send a picture of mother, and all will be well
