I work all day, from morn till night,
To earn my wage, to keep things right.
But when I get my pay, oh what a sight,
My wife is there, with all her might.

She takes my wages, every bit,
And says, "My dear, this is it.
We'll pay the rent, and buy some meat,
And maybe have a little treat."

But then she goes and spends it all,
On fancy hats and dresses tall.
I ask her why, she gives a call,
"You work all day, I have a ball!"

So here I am, with empty pockets,
Listening to her laughter's rockets.
I love my wife, but oh, these locksets,
Of wages gone, like straying rockets.

But still I work, from morn till night,
To earn my wage, to keep things right.
For though she spends with all her might,
She is my joy, my heart's delight.
