In the beginning, there was nothing

Just a void, an endless sea of silence

To walk in truth and grace

But the choice was given, the test was made
In a garden, pure and fair
And the trust was broken, the price was paid
In the cool evening air

Yet even then, before the fall
A plan was set in place
A promise to redeem us all
Through mercy and through grace

So through the ages, the story told
Of prophets, kings, and pain
Of a love so fierce it would not fold
And a Lamb that would be slain

For in the fullness of the time
The Word to earth came down
The source of life, sublime, divine
To wear a thorny crown

To break the curse, to pay the cost
To conquer sin and grave
To seek and save the hopeless lost
The mighty One to save

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God
And the Word was God
And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us full of grace and truth
And we beheld His glory

And now the Spirit calls us home
To the love that made the start
To never again be left to roam
With a new and righteous heart

For He who made the heavens and earth
Will make them new again
And all creation finds its worth
