The sky is darkening
A storm is on the rise
The air is charged and heavy
With lightning in the skies
The thunder starts to rumble
A deep and distant sound
The rain begins to fall now
Upon the thirsty ground
The wind is howling fiercely
Through trees that bend and sway
Nature shows its power
In a wild display
The lightning cracks the heavens
A brilliant, blinding flash
The thunder follows after
With a deafening crash
The storm is raging onward
With fury and with might
A battle in the heavens
Between the dark and light
But as the storm is passing
The clouds begin to part
A sense of calm and freshness
Is felt within the heart
The thunder slowly fades now
Into the distant east
The mighty storm has ended
And brought a sweet release
